There are also several Yukon Energy workers trained as MFRs. An MFR list with contact numbers is typically posted at/near 1st aid station. Contact Health and Safety department if the list is not available; or, to verify which workers have valid MFR training. 1st AID REPORTING All 1st aid incidents must be reported to your immediate Supervisor; no matter how minor they may seem. In the event the injury becomes more serious, you must be able to prove that the injury happened at work to be compensated by Yukon Workers' Compensation Health and Safety Board (YWCHSB). Anything that requires more than 1st aid at the work site, must be reported to YWCHSB. E.g., treatment at hospital, doctor’s office, or nursing station. Whatever the severity of the injury, it must be documented. If you miss more than 1 day of work because of an injury, a report must be filed. The Yukon Workers' Compensation Health and Safety Board (YWCHSB) requires 3 forms before it can compensate an injured worker. The 3 forms are: Worker’s Report of Injury/Illness (by worker using online form) Employer's Report of Injury/Illness (by H&S using online form) Functional Abilities Form (received at medical facility) If first aid was given on the jobsite, and the employee required no time off beyond the day of injury, there is no obligation for employers or workers to fill out a YWCHSB report of injury/illness form. The following injuries/incidents must be reported to the Yukon Worker’s Compensation Health and Safety Board (YWCHSB): Immediately; if a major injury (this includes fractures, loss of consciousness, etc) Within 72 hours if not a major injury; or Close calls/near miss that could have resulted in an injury. HEARING CONSERVATION PROGRAM Yukon Energy employees exposed, or potentially exposed, to a time weighted average (TWA) of 85 decibels (dB) or greater over an 8-hour period will be included in the Hearing Conservation Program (HCP). Audiometric testing will be conducted annually for all employees in the HCP. New employees will undergo a baseline audiogram to establish their level of hearing and for comparison for subsequent audiograms. This also includes personnel involved in special projects.
