Rural Healthy Eating Active Living (RHEAL) – Leaders Program

RHEAL Leaders support active living and healthy eating opportunities in rural Yukon communities.

The next deadline to apply for funding will be in the Fall of 2017.

What is the RHEAL Leader Program?

The RHEAL Leader program is a community-based program designed to support local leaders interested in delivering initiatives that increase active living and healthy eating opportunities in rural Yukon communities. Local leaders implement programs that complement existing recreational programs and support community participation in active and healthy living opportunities. RHEAL Leader programs are offered regularly over two months or longer, are led by a local leader and include 30+ minutes of physical activity.

How does the RHEAL Leader Program work?

Through short-term contracts, individuals or organizations receive an honorarium, funding for materials and/or supplies, access to training and an invitation to the Annual Recreation Gathering. Applications are accepted twice a year (fall/winter) for a maximum funding of $3,000.00 per program. The deadlines for applications are fall and January 23, 2017 (winter). The maximum funding is $3,000.00 per program. Exceptions will be made for WAFL RHEAL Leaders which are due November 14, 2016 and ASTP RHEAL Leaders applicants. For more information contact RPAY’s Active Living Coordinator at 867-668-3010, or by email, then apply.
