Active Yukoners

There is no debating the fact that exercise has great physical and emotional health benefits. Exercise releases endorphins, which are known to reduce stress, increase self-esteem, boost energy levels and enhance daily function.

The Canadian Physical Activity Guidelines state that to achieve health benefits, adults 18-64 years should accumulate at least 150 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous intensity aerobic physical activity per week in bouts of 10 minutes or more. This is equal to about 22 minutes a day! It’s also beneficial to add muscle and bone strengthening activities using major muscle groups, at least 2 days per week.

To achieve those guidelines, RPAY is dedicated to empowering Yukoner’s to adapt active, healthy lifestyles. Working collaboratively with partnered organizations we offer a variety of programs and services that encourage recreation, active living and parks opportunities.
